This strictly extra-curricular ensemble plays for numerous community events and gigs. Although this is not a course, the student must be enrolled in at least one other band class to participate in Jazz Band. The training emphasis in this ensemble is on jazz style, performance, and improvisation. An audition is required to join this group and they take place some time after the conclusion of the marching band season. The Jazz Band has received high honors at the Florida Band Festival and other festivals and competitions in years past.
