The Wind Ensemble is the highest performing concert band in the SSS Bands and Ensembles Program and performs two concerts each year. This ensemble takes place in the Spring Semester from January until May. This class is catered to the more advanced musician, but membership is based on ability, dedication, and instrumentation. The Wind Ensemble challenges each student to a higher level of performance in each piece of music they play. The class moves away from teaching students how to play their instrument to how to play music. It thus instills that everything that the student plays should treated as music and not just notes and rhythms. Students in grades 11 and 12 are eligible to receive honors credit for this course.
