Congratulations to the Spartan Regiment on their outstanding performance at the Clayton Competition on September 26.
They were named Grand Champions   and received 1^st place in Guard,   Percussion, Music, General Effect, and Overall Class AAA. The Regiment also competed at the Wakefield "Heart of Carolina"

Band Invitational on October 3rd. Twenty-two of the best bands

in NC gathered and battled for the top eight spots in prelims to perform for finals. The Regiment came in 4th place in prelims and maintained 4th in finals. They also placed 1st in visual performance for the day, 2nd place overall in Class AAA, 1st place Guard,

1st place Marching, and 2nd place Overall Effect. Good Job Guys!!

The staff of the SSS Band Program is committed to providing students with a solid foundation in music education. "Just as there can be no music without education, no education is complete with out music." Vision, dedication, and commitment to music performance and education have made the Smithfield-Selma Program one of quality

and HEART!

 

"Taking  pride in our character, artistry, and commitment to excellence" is not only a motto, but a way of life for all involved in this special program. Excellence is our

standard and we strive for perfection in everything we do. When asked "what is it

that makes this program so successful?", there can not possibly be one answer. From

the incredible administration, enthusiastic parents, hard-working students, and staff

with a vision, only the start of something special is formed. Indeed! It is privilege

to be a part of this tradition.

     Message From The Band Boosters

The season is finally here and our students are working hard on this year's show "Frequency". Please be sure to check out with this year's officers are and plan to get plugged in. Our goal for this year is to get everyone that is in the "SSS Band Family" involved in keeping the SSS Band at the top!

There is always a way you can be involved even if you have limited availability, please let one of this years officers know.

A special thanks to Mr. Heard and Mr. Jones along with the extra instructors that we have this year. They are "sweating" it out in the coming hot days of August. I know that we will all be proud when the band 'takes the field'!
